The Sparkling Designs by Melissa brand was founded in 2024. Product manufacturing is based in central Kentucky, and exceptional craftsmanship is put into each and every piece, creating "Handcrafted Elegance for Every Occasion."

Meet our Founder, Melissa

I grew up near Pittsburgh, surrounded by the rolling hills and rich culture of western Pennsylvania. After completing my education at Slippery Rock University, where I earned degrees in both Special Education and Elementary Education, I pursued further academic achievement with a Master’s Degree in Special Education. Embarking on my teaching career, I’ve dedicated the past 32 years to educating middle school students in mathematics, striving to instill a love for learning and problem-solving in each of my students. Alongside my professional journey, I, with Providence, have also triumphed over breast cancer, a battle that has deepened my appreciation for life’s precious moments and strengthened my resilience in facing challenges head-on.
In the genesis of Sparkling Designs by Melissa, the dawn of my retirement “chapter,” I chose to incorporate ONE cross on the back of each pair of earrings as a profound symbol of my faith and gratitude. Jesus has been an unwavering presence in my life, offering solace and strength during countless trials. The decision to adorn each pair of earrings with ONE cross is rooted in the profound belief that Christ’s ONE cross was all that is essential for my salvation. This subtle, yet profound, emblem serves as a reminder of the enduring grace and guidance Jesus provides, infusing every pair of my creations with spiritual significance and purpose.​​
